When a merchant finalizes a Transaction Hold and sets a Final Purchase Amount, any remaining amount held shall be reversed and should fall off your account within 7 days.
In cases where a merchant fails to process the Final Purchase amount or release the Transaction Hold, the system will follow the timelines below and "Clear" the transaction automatically.
General Purchases: 9 days
Hotels, Car Rentals, and the like: 30 days
This means the initial Transaction Hold amount will be pushed through and posted to your account if the merchant fails to update the transaction. We encourage you to contact the merchant immediately if you notice any discrepancies with the transaction and the timelines.
